From one truck in 2003 to a full local fuel-delivery operation, Mapleton Oil has grown by earning the trust of its customers.

HOW IT STARTED

Mapleton Oil Company began in November 2003 with one oil truck. With snow-plowing work declining, delivering heating fuel during the winter was a logical way to stay busy. The earliest customers were family and friends, but word quickly spread.

By late 2004, a second truck had joined the fleet, and the company incorporated in January 2005. Off-road diesel was added to serve the logging industry.

GROWING TO SERVE THE COUNTY

A third truck and a part-time employee followed in 2006. By 2007, fuel delivery had become the company’s main focus. Mapleton Oil installed a tank farm and purchased a semi and tanker so it could haul and store fuel directly from the depots.

The business weathered the volatile oil markets of 2008 through 2010 and continued investing in the service its customers depended on.
